Zambia MapThe country is landlocked and probably one of Africa’s legacies of colonialism. Zambia is huge, about the size of France, England and Ireland combined. It sits on a plateau which slopes to the south, to the north it drops steeply to Lake Tanganyika. The main river in Zambia is the Zambezi which rises in the west of the country. The border is formed by the river between Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, flowing into the Victoria Falls and Lake Kariba. Other rivers include Kafue and the Luangwa.
