Rwanda MapAlmost every available piece of land is under cultivation in Rwanda, except for parts of the Akagera (along the border with Tanzania) and the higher slopes of the volcanoes. Most of the country is mountainous and involves a good deal of terracing. Coffee and tea plantations take up considerable areas of land. The mountainous terrain occupies 26,338 sq km. Land use is about 35% arable, 20% pasture and 11% forest. |
